Horns and Halos: Ultimate Bullfighting is Coming to Salt Lake City this July

SALT LAKE CITY (June 4, 2026) – Rodeo is frequently celebrated as America’s Original
Extreme Sport, but nothing tests human agility and grit quite like the heart-pounding spectacle of American freestyle bullfighting and it is coming to downtown Salt Lake City – July 18.
The event dubbed Horns and Halos will officially kickoff the 2026 Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo.
Sanctioned by the Ultimate Bullfighters (UBF), this one-night exclusive event will feature 12 elite
bullfighters in both individual and team competitions.

“In an effort to create entertainment products that fit all the Salt Lake Valley in celebration of Pioneer Week, this is our version of Rodeo’s X Games,” stated Tommy Joe Lucia, Executive Director of the Utah Days of ’47 Rodeo. Horns and Halos will showcase authentic fighting bulls from Mexico and professional bullfighters, complete with dance music, to create an intense two-hour jam session.”


Horns and Halos will be one of over 50 live events nationwide on the UBF tour that, by season’s
end, will deliver more than $1 million in total prize money. The 2026 campaign marks the largest season and highest total payout in the history of freestyle bullfighting. As a result, UBF continues to strengthen its position as one of the fastest-growing and most innovative brands in Western sports.

athleticism, showmanship, and one-of-a-kind Western entertainment that anyone will enjoy.”
Spanning major arenas, historic venues, and high-profile festival environments across the country, UBF’s 2026 schedule will bring tournament-style freestyle bullfighting competitions to fans coast-to-coast. In addition, the season will feature its signature “Bull Games” team-based competition, blending elite athleticism, unscripted competition and high-energy entertainment. For fans unfamiliar with this event imagine a little Savannah Bananas meets the rodeo arena in a man vs beast competition.

Tickets will range in price from $18 to $45 and will go on sale here on AXS at 8 a.m. MT on Saturday, June 6.
